Which suit-Choices by Linda J Green

Your opening lead is probably the most important card that one will play during the course of the defense.

If one leads the wrong suit, or even the right suit but the wrong card, one may not be able to recover.

First and foremost, is to listen to the bidding. The more bids they make, the more information we receive, to assist us in our decision to make the correct opening lead.

 Your choice:
A: 5. When three suits have been bid and they settle in the 3rd suit, it is usually best to lead a trump. A low card allows partner to still have a trump to return so that one can continue with the Ace and another trump, to stop the opponents from playing a "cross-ruff".
