Originally, "National Translators' Day" began as a celebration for St. Jerome, who is considered to be the first to translate the Bible. It expanded over the years to be a day to celebrate all who endeavor to translate one language to another.

I consider bridge players to be translators. Who works harder to unscramble the words of others? Who more desperately seeks to uncover the oh-so-ephemeral meaning of their Pard's words? Us. That's who. And let's see how you do on these five translations?
