"Forgotten Uses" Rebids over NT by Marti Ronemus

How about some common items we only THINK we know what they're for. Examples?
--That tiny pocket in our jeans is NOT for coins. It originated as extra protection for our pocket watches.
--The holes in our pot handles weren't planned for us to hang the pots, but rather to insert the spoon to keep it handy and not dripping on the stove.
--The drawer under the stove isn't for storing pots and pans (where else am I supposed to put them?) but as a warming oven for those who have gas stoves.
--Finally, those little tabs on the end of the rolls of foil and plastic wrap (which you never noticed until this minute) are designed to push in to stop the roll from flopping all over.

And how about some bids we may/may not be using properly? Today we're looking at rebids after pard responds No-trump.

Q: 2 - South?
SouthWestNorthEast
1Pass1 No-trumpPass
?

 Your choice:
A: Pass: Pard's 1 No-trump bid denied holding a four-card (or longer) major, so we really have nothing else to say, especially since we have at most 23 pts between us.

Q: 3 - As South?
SouthWestNorthEast
1Pass1 No-trumpPass
?

 Your choice:
A: 2: We are unbalanced, with nine cards in two suits. That usually means we don't want to be in No-trump. Our 2 bid is non-forcing and Pard may pass it if he likes it better than Spades.

 Your choice:
A: 3: We are still unbalanced, but we want to force Pard to bid again. We've got a great game-going hand and want to see what Pard bids next.

Q: 5 - Last chance. South?
SouthWestNorthEast
1Pass1 No-trumpPass
?

 Your choice:
A: 2: We are (still!) unbalanced, but this time with a minimum hand, and two suits to show. By bidding 2, we show Pard 9-plus cards in two suits, asking Pard to take a preference, either by passing Clubs or correcting to Diamonds.

And now, let's Roll with the Stones and play a hand.
