"Lane Courtesy Month" by Marti Ronemus

Traveling the Interstate (or any road, for that matter) can be a horrifying experience... nasty people zipping from lane to lane with scarcely a hair's breadth of safety, and worst of all -- NO TURN SIGNALS!! Obviously the rules aren't meant for them, and they own the right to endanger us all. (Can you guess this is a pet peeve of mine?)

We have some of those people at the bridge table also. Have you noticed the people who arrive with their two-quart drinks, pencils that roll all over the table, a box of tissues, a flurry of convention cards, and rather than sticking to their assigned corner, take over the table? Grrrrr.

Not us! We are models of decorum, polite, respectful of the other guy's space. BUT!! As has been said, don't mistake our niceness for weakness. We are here to win... in a mannerly fashion. Style and class. That's us. Ready to practice our driving skills?

Question 5

 A Q 10 7

Q: 5 - Should you switch lanes: South:
SouthWestNorthEast
--12
Pass23Pass
?

 Your choice:
A: 4: Unlike the hast hand, our honors are all working. Our Q is actually on overtime, and we don't have honors in the opponents' suits. Our values are well worth raising Pard to game.

And now it's time to make a tough hand. Our engine's all warmed up.
