Wham-O Introduces Frisbee by Marti Ronemus

In 1957, the Wham-O company rolled out (pun intended) the Frisbee and life has never been the same. Who doesn't smile watching people and dogs running after that flat plastic disc? A whole sports genre has grown up a-round (another pun) it, and we can't imagine a park or field without people playing Frisbee.

So what about our bridge games? Do we bring that happy pleasure to our Pards? Maybe if we sharpen up our skills.

So, let's get rolling (sorry) with our quiz. Ready?

 K 8 7 6 5

Q: 2 - South:
SouthWestNorthEast

 Your choice:
A: 2: Unlike last hand, we've got a preference. Pard promised an opening hand, we're promising a 7-ish to 10-11 hand, since we're bidding freely.

Question 3

 A Q 9 7
 10 9 3 2

Q: 3 - South:
SouthWestNorthEast

?

 Your choice:
A: 1: Pard's Negative Double showed 4-4 in the black suits. We don't like No-trump because of our Hearts. We don't like supporting with only three, but c'mon. Three honors? Plus we're showing a minimum opener with our tiny bid.

Question 4

 K 9 8 7

 A J 6 5
 Q 10 9 8

Q: 4 - South:
SouthWestNorthEast
-1Pass2
?

 Your choice:
A: Double: The Frisbee is coming right at us, and we have to take action. Pard is indeed a passed hand, but all that means is he didn't have a bid... wrong shape maybe? We have the perfect hand for a double. When you're short in the opponents' suit, it's okay to be a little aggressive.

Question 5

  Your Hand
 K 8
 5 4 3 2
 9 4
 K Q J 8 7

Q: 5 - South:
SouthWestNorthEast
-1Double2
?

 Your choice:
A: Pass: Be casual! Act like you're not paying attention. Put on your "innocent" face. They are about to find themselves in serious trouble. It's very likely your Pard will bid again, probably with another double. He'll be surprised when you pass, but will thank you later.

Let's play a quick hand before we head to the park for Frisbee.
